Port Macdonnell to Mount Gambier – 28km

This is a great day’s walk as the roads are very quiet and flat. Heading away from the coast along Bay Rd, turn right at Jones Rd  This will bring you out onto Lower Nelson Rd. After about 1.25km Turn left at Starks Rd, this is not signposted but there is a five way intersection, head directly north towards Mt Schank in the distance.  The surface changes a few times and so does the name of the of the track but it will lead directly  Mt Schank up the western side. There is a small picnic spot with a toilet on Mt Schank. Proceed north until Bellum Lane, turn right through the gate and then first left. This will eventually lead back on to the main highway for the last 5km  to Mt Gambier via the Blue Lake.
